Jeep confirms new SUV India launch in 2027

Jeep India has announced a new 2.0 strategy, intending to enhance its line-up, meet consumer needs and improve the ownership experience. As part of this roadmap, called Strategic Plan Jeep 2.0, the brand will bring an all-new SUV in 2027, its first all-new model in five years, and in the meantime, it will launch special editions of its current range.

  1. Jeep India’s all-new model to arrive in 2027, a first in five years
  2. Brand to export locally manufactured models to African and North American markets

More export and localisation ambitions in the undertaking

Under the new strategy, Jeep also plans to export India-made models from its Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra to markets in the African and North American regions, in addition to Japan, Australia and New Zealand. In fact, India is the first country outside of North America where the SUV maker manufactures and exports to other right-hand-drive markets.

To keep costs in check, the brand is even targeting to increase localisation to 90 percent from 65-70 percent now. Along with this, the carmaker is looking to enhance its after-sales and ownership experience through pre-maintenance, extended warranty and premium owner loyalty and customer care programmes. Currently, Jeep sells the Compass and its three-row counterpart, the Meridian, the Wrangler off-roader and the flagship Grand Cherokee.

Speaking about Jeep’s plans, Stellantis India’s CEO and MD, Shailesh Hazela, said, “Jeep’s 85-year legacy is built on authenticity and adventure. Strategic Plan Jeep 2.0 lays out how we will sharpen our product strategy and strengthen the customer experience year after year, driven by deeper localisation, global product alignment, expanding our vehicle offerings and programmes that deliver real value.”

He added that the brand is equally focused on taking care of its existing customers, ensuring they receive the support, service and confidence they expect from Jeep. “Success in India demands resilience and long-term commitment, and we are investing with that clarity to ensure Jeep remains a brand of pride and desirability.”
