Hyundai has launched a new HX8 diesel-AT variant in the Venue line-up at Rs 13.70 lakh (ex-showroom). Until now, the diesel-AT powertrain was only offered on the top HX10 trim, which is priced at Rs 15.51 lakh. The new variant makes the diesel-AT powertrain more accessible by Rs 1.81 lakh. This comes on the occasion of the new Venue amassing over 1 lakh bookings since it was launched in November last year.

  1. Venue diesel-AT now more affordable by Rs 1.81 lakh
  2. Venue diesel-AT now available in a total of 2 trims

Hyundai Venue HX8 diesel-AT: What’s new?

The HX8 is the second-from-top trim in the Venue line-up. Hyundai has made no changes to the features available on the HX8, which means it comes quite well equipped with ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, 4-way powered driver’s seat, sunroof, auto AC, 16-inch alloys, leatherette upholstery, connected tech and OTA updates, drive and traction modes, and also paddle shifters.

However, compared to the top-spec HX10 trim, this one misses out on the electrochromic IRVM, front and side parking sensors, Level 2 ADAS, the dual 12.3-inch curved displays and a Bose 8-speaker sound system. The infotainment screen here measures 10.25-inches, and the digital instrument cluster comprises a 4.2-inch colour TFT display.

The Venue’s diesel variant uses a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder mill that produces 116hp and 250Nm of peak torque, and comes mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. In fact, this diesel-AT combo is one of the best diesel powertrains in the compact SUV segment. The Venue diesel also gets a 6-speed manual gearbox, available across a wider trim and price range.

Prices for the entire Venue line-up range between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 15.51 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the likes of the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq, and more.
