Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has released its FY26 (April 2025 to March 2026) sales report for India, showing that the Defender was its best-selling model during that period. The manufacturer sold 6,031 cars during the fiscal year, representing a slight 2 percent decline from FY25.

  1. With 1,651 unit sales, JLR saw an 8 percent YoY decline in Q4 FY26
  2. JLR has recorded a 14 percent YoY revenue growth in the fiscal year

Despite being a fully imported model in India, the Defender has been a well-performing SUV for JLR, reflected in it being the highest-selling SUV in FY26, as it was in FY25. In fact, over 80 percent of the manufacturer's sales in the fiscal year were from the Defender, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models.

Despite a 2 percent decline in yearly retail sales, JLR recorded a 14 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth in FY26. The official statement says that the “performance comes despite a challenging industry environment and JLR being impacted by a cyber incident, which contributed to a marginal decline in overall retail volumes in FY26”.

However, the carmaker recorded an 8 percent YoY decline in sales in Q4FY26 (January 2026 to March 2026) with total sales of 1,651 units.

Good - Rs 20/litre cheaper than E20 is a big advantage
