The Bentayga S Black Edition is said to be the first Bentley in 105 years to get the ‘Bentley Wings’ logo finished in black. Naturally, the SUV gets an all-black finish, with even the headlights and 22-inch alloys getting a dark tint and blacked-out treatment, respectively. However, there are seven contrasting accents to choose from – Mandarin, Signal Yellow, Klein Blue, Pillar Box Red, Ice, Hyper Green, and Beluga. These accents are seen on the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, rear spoiler, and the brake callipers. There’s also a Black Edition badge located on the D-pillar.

The accents carry on into the inside of the Bentayga S Black Edition’s all-black cabin; where the seats are wrapped in new Beluga leather. The interior accents are seen on the seats, dashboard, doors, and centre console. Speaking of the door and dash, Bentley has used carbon fibre in a number of places, and has used the Dark Chrome pack as well, which means every metallic surface on the inside – like the air-con vents – gets a dark finish. As with the standard Bentayga S, there are three audio systems to choose from: there’s the Bentley Signature system, a Band & Olufsen one, and a top-spec Naim system, which is said to represent the ultimate in automotive sound quality.

However, the Bentayga S Black Edition is available with the 550hp, 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, and the 462hp, 3.0-litre V6 petrol-hybrid powertrain. The former unit is claimed to sprint from 0-100kph in 4.5 seconds, while the latter does the same in 5.3 seconds. One can choose to spec the Bentayga S Black Edition with the optional All-Terrain Specification, which adds four off-road modes – Snow and wet, Grass, Dirt and gravel, Mud and Trail – along with a 500mm water wading capability.
