Fresh spy shots of the third-generation Hyundai Creta due in 2027 have surfaced online, revealing its interior for the first time. The midsize SUV was spotted testing just two weeks ago, but its interior was not visible then.

  1. New Creta may offer an ottoman for the front passenger seat
  2. Redesigned upholstery and door trims are likely

One of the most striking highlights visible in the interior spy shots is the addition of a Hyundai Ioniq 5-like zero-gravity button. On the EV, this function reclines the backrest of the passenger seat and extends an ottoman for added comfort. The current Creta does offer Boss mode to adjust the front passenger seat’s position and recline angle in the top-spec King and King Knight models, but there’s no ottoman on offer. Whether Hyundai introduces that added layer of comfort on the India-spec model remains to be seen.

The spy shots also reveal a fresh upholstery pattern and redesigned door trims. Interestingly, the test mule did not feature a sunroof.

The latest test mule, like the one seen earlier, was heavily camouflaged. What stands out this time are the larger 19-inch alloy wheels, with a sharp geometric pattern, replacing the earlier car’s 18-inch set. Those bigger rims should lend the SUV a sportier stance, but whether Hyundai will offer them here is still unclear. And if it does, the real question will be ride comfort, especially on our roads. Expect them, if at all, to be reserved for higher variants and the N-Line models. For reference, the current Creta is offered with wheel sizes ranging between 16 and 18 inches.

2027 Hyundai Creta platform and powertrains

Like the new Kia Seltos, the new Creta is likely to move to the newer and safer K3 platform. If that happens, engine options are likely to remain the same as the current model: a 115hp 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 116hp 1.5-litre diesel and a 160hp 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. All three engines should continue with a 6-speed manual as standard. The NA petrol may continue to offer a CVT, the diesel a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and the turbo-petrol a 7-speed dual-clutch unit. The shift to the K3 platform could also open the door for a hybrid version using the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine.
