MG Majestor

In the run-up to the Majestor’s launch on February 12, JSW MG Motor India has released a teaser video showcasing just its exterior. To slot above the MG Gloster, the carmaker’s current ICE flagship, the new MG Majestor three-row SUV will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq.

The short video features a Majestor in a black exterior shade, showing a massive grille up front with an MG logo in the centre and a faux silver skid plate. Lighting elements comprise L-shaped daytime running lamps (DRLs) that are not connected and vertically stacked LED headlights. We could also spot machined-finish alloy wheels, likely 19 inches in size.

MG had also showcased the Majestor in metal at the 2025 Auto Expo. However, its interior was not on display. Among expected features are a digital driver’s display and a touchscreen, each measuring 12.3 inches, a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera setup, powered seats, automatic climate control and drive modes.

Gloster’s 215hp diesel unit could be used

Details about the MG SUV’s powertrains are still under wraps, but we expect it to be equipped with the Gloster’s 2-litre four-cylinder twin-turbocharged diesel engine. In the Gloster, it makes 215hp and 478Nm and is hooked up to an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, channelling drive to all wheels via a four-wheel-drive system. The Gloster’s entry-level 2-litre single-turbo diesel mill, with relatively lower peak outputs of 161hp and 373Nm and a two-wheel-drive layout, is unlikely to be on offer with the Majestor.

Talking about rivals, at the time of writing, the Toyota Fortuner is priced between Rs 34.16 lakh and Rs 49.59 lakh, while the Skoda Kodiaq range starts at Rs 39.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 43.76 lakh.
