The subcompact SUV’s facelift is expected to arrive by the first half of 2026, and it will continue to take on the likes of the Tata Punch and Citroen C3X.
- Tweaks to the front grille and bumpers expected
- Changes under the hood are unlikely
- It could get new variant nomenclature, as the Venue did

New alloy wheels, H-signatures for headlights carried over

The partly camouflaged test mule retained the current model’s projector headlights and H-shaped signature for the front daytime running lamps (DRLs) and the tail-lights. Design changes to the grille and bumpers, which were covered, are expected. Even the alloy wheels, likely 15 inches, have a new design.
2026 Hyundai Exter facelift new features
Larger touchscreen, Android Auto OS

As per our previous report, the upcoming Exter will be the first model in India to get the brand’s next-gen infotainment system. The two screens – a 12.9-inch touchscreen and a 9.9-inch digital driver’s display – will be based on the latest Android Auto OS, making it the first mass-market car in India to use the Google software. The central screen will also be able to receive map updates via OTA and support a variety of third-party applications, unlike the current system. New upholstery and additional safety features could be offered as well.

The Exter CNG offers both single- and dual-cylinder options, and they might be offered in the facelifted model, too.
