Honda has revealed the mileage figures for the City facelift, which was launched in India on May 22, 2026. As before, the City continues to be available with petrol (i-VTEC) and hybrid (eHEV) powertrain options with manual and CVT transmissions. So, how do these variants of the 2026 Honda City facelift compare with each other?

The 2026 Honda City facelift’s petrol variants get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine, mated to either a 6-speed manual (MT) or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This four-cylinder mill produces 121hp and 145Nm of torque. The variants equipped with the CVT automatic have a claimed fuel economy that is 0.2kpl better than those featuring the manual gearbox. The City hybrid facelift also gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 126hp and 253Nm, with the help of a lithium-ion battery and dual electric motors. It uses an electrically coupled continuously variable transmission (e-CVT).

All variants of the 2026 Honda City facelift are fitted with a 40-litre fuel tank, just like the pre-facelift model. We will report the sedan’s real-world fuel economy when we get our hands on it and put it through its paces. However, we have driven the hybrid variant’s predecessor from Bengaluru to Mumbai, a distance of 1,006km, on just 29.08 litres of petrol. This means a real-world mileage of 34.59kpl, which was achieved through sedate driving techniques. For context, the pre-facelift City hybrid’s claimed mileage was 26.5kpl – 0.76kpl lower than the updated model that’s on sale now.

The 2026 Honda City facelift is priced from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in SV, V, ZX and ZX+ trims. The hybrid (e:HEV) is only offered in the top-spec ZX+ trim.

What do you think about E85 fuel’s Rs 82.12/litre price in India?

Good - Rs 20/litre cheaper than E20 is a big advantage
Bad - it should have been priced even lower
Doesn’t matter - there aren’t enough E85-compatible vehicles yet
