10 new Mini cars to launch in India this year

Mini’s parent company, BMW Group India, plans to launch 10 new models from the British marque in 2026, hoping to double its sales in the year to around 1,400 units. Mini India delivered 730 cars in 2025, registering a 3 percent increase compared to 2024’s sales.

Special edition Mini models, along with some new cars, are in the pipeline for India

According to Hardeep Singh Brar, president and CEO, BMW Group India, “We have some special editions coming in, and you will see a lot of action in Mini this year.” He went on to say, “We want to double our volumes.” While there’s no word on which models will get a special edition and which cars are in the pipeline, we had reported that the Mini Aceman is on the cards for India launch.

Mini launched the Convertible, Countryman JCW ALL4 and Countryman SE ALL4 in 2025

At the moment, Mini India has the Cooper 3-door, Convertible, Countryman Electric and Countryman JCW models on sale, with the latter three having expanded the brand’s line-up in the last year. In fact, the Convertible, Countryman JCW ALL4 and Countryman SE ALL4 all launched in the last quarter of 2025. Brar went on to explain, “We just had two models last year – the Countryman and the Cooper – and the Convertible is still growing despite having two models. So [2026] is also going to be a big year for Mini," he said. 

The president and CEO also talked about the Mini buyer’s profile, saying, “It can be anyone. Mini is, above all, an occasion-led purchase. It’s bought to mark moments rather than commute miles. It could be a 30th birthday gift for a spouse, a graduation present for a child, or an addition to a well-stocked garage for someone who already owns multiple cars. In many cases, a Mini replaces jewellery or another luxury indulgence, and it becomes the emotional choice.”

This is unlike, say, BMW, which tends to attract a more defined customer profile, such as real estate professionals, doctors, or lawyers. While males still account for a large share of Mini buyers, the share of female buyers is relatively higher than in most other luxury brands, reinforcing the British marque’s positioning as a lifestyle statement rather than a purely functional car, he says.
