•7wI want to buy a two-wheeler in the 100-110cc segment, but there are too many options available. My daily running is around 15 km. Please suggest the best option for my usage.

Autocar India
If you value the comfort and fuel efficiency of a motorcycle, then you should be looking at the Hero HF / Splendor models, Honda Shine 100 / Livo, Bajaj Platina 100 / 110 and TVS Sport / Star City Plus and Radeon. You might be overwhelmed by the many options we've suggested but the good news is that all of these bikes are simple, reliable and fuel efficient machines which should last you a long time without major trouble. This means that no matter which one you choose, odds are you'll likely be making a purchase that will last you many years provided you take good care of it. On the flip side, if you value the convenience and practicality of a scooter, then we'd recommend you look at the TVS Jupiter and Honda Activa. Both of these are accomplished products but the Jupiter is clearly the better product of the two. However, Honda's service is known to be friction-free and affordable, something that can't necessarily always be said about TVS. It would be prudent to take test rides of the machines you shortlist before you make a decision.

•21wI want to buy my first geared bike. My daily commute is up to 30 km, and occasionally I travel out of the station once a month for not more than 40 km. I would prefer a bike with higher mileage rather than more features. I have checked the TVS Sport and Hero Splendor, but there is no proper review page or video available to compare both. Please help me choose the right bike. Thank you.

Since you are a novice rider and want a machine that prioritises fuel economy over everything else, we'll recommend some models that fit the bill. The Hero Splendor is a proven machine that is very hard to go wrong with and will last you years on end while returning stellar fuel economy, and is a great place to start. You should also consider the Honda Shine 100 because it is a comfortable, extremely fuel-efficient, simple and lightweight machine that comes from a reputed company. The TVS Sport is quite a dated machine, but still continues to sell because of its low price, good fuel economy and reputation for dependability. The TVS is a 110cc bike which will offer you slightly better performance, with not a big drop in fuel economy in comparison to the Hero and Honda. Take a test ride before you decide to see which one suits you best.

•27wHello, I am an avid Autocar India reader and a regular visitor to www.autocarindia.com. I also enjoy your podcasts. I wish to buy a 100cc motorcycle. Currently, I ride a Honda Dio and previously used the Splendor and Platina. Now, I have shortlisted the Honda Shine 100 and the TVS Sport. My usage will be strictly city-centric, approximately 10 to 40 km daily. My expectations are comfort, good suspension, easy maintenance, fuel efficiency, and reliability. Kindly guide me. Thank you.

First of all, thank you for your patronage. We truly appreciate it. Coming to your query, both the Honda Shine 100 DX and TVS Sport will be frugal, practical and comfortable machines that will likely last you for a long time and return great fuel economy.Since the TVS uses a slightly larger 110cc engine compared to the Honda, which has a 99cc mill, expect the TVS Sport to have slightly more pep. Take a test ride of both machines before you decide.
