Yamaha R15 price drop

Remains mechanically unchanged

Following the GST 2.0 implementation in September 2025 that lowered taxes on bikes up to 350cc, Yamaha cut the R15’s price by up to Rs 17,581, bringing it down from Rs 2.12 lakh to Rs 1.94 lakh for the R15M ‘Icon Performance’.

With the additional Rs 5,000 price cut, the R15 range now starts at Rs 1.51 lakh for the base R15S, which is essentially an R15 V3 with a single-piece seat, along with a few other differences. Moving up, the R15 V4 range costs an additional Rs 15,000 over the R15S, but it gets you the latest R7-inspired design with a mono-projector headlight, a USD fork, a split seat, and multiple colour options, among other differences.

The top-spec R15M costs Rs 10,000 more than the V4 and gets you a bunch of sophisticated components such as a TFT dash, a quickshifter (standard) and iconic Yamaha Racing colourways, including the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP livery. The top-spec Icon Performance, which is the same as the R15M but costs Rs 10,000 over the ‘M’ model for its colourway, is priced at Rs 1.91 lakh.

The R15 remains mechanically unchanged and continues to use the revered 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 18.4hp and 14.2Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
