Yamaha has launched a new DLX variant of the MT-15 that sits above the STD variant and gets a TFT dash and two new colours. The STD variant is priced at Rs 1.69 lakh, whereas the top-spec DLX variant is priced at Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

    3. Available in two variants – STD and DLX

Yamaha MT-15 DLX now gets a TFT dash

    Compatible with Yamaha’s Y-connect app

This new DLX variant of the MT-15 brings in the TFT dash from the FZ-S Fi Hybrid, which offers Bluetooth connectivity with app-based functionality. The application provides seamless access to a range of features, including maintenance recommendations, parking location, fuel consumption data and malfunction alerts.

Along with this, there are two new colours for the DLX variant – silver with blue alloys and violet – that join the existing Metallic Black. There is also a standard variant that continues to get an LCD dash. That, too, gets a new shade of silver with blue accents.

Apart from these updates, there aren’t any other changes to the MT-15. It continues to be powered by the same tried-and-tested 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 18.4hp and 14.1Nm, mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. This engine also powers the R15 V4 range.

Priced from Rs 1.69-1.80 lakh, the MT-15 DLX rivals the likes of the Pulsar NS200 and Apache RTR 200 4V. That it competes with a class above in terms of power output is largely down to its pricing, but the other two do not offer a TFT dash.
