Vespa Officina 8: All you need to know

Special edition pays tribute to Vespa’s birthplace

The Officina 8 name references the experimental department established in 1944 within Piaggio’s Pontedera plant. This dedicated workshop housed a team of engineers, designers and mechanics who worked away from regular production lines to develop new concepts and test prototypes. By 1946, their experimentation culminated in the patenting of the Vespa.

The Vespa Officina 8 features a steel body sporting a matte metallic Blue Officina 8 finish with metallic rivets and brass and aluminium tones, giving the scooter a distinctive, industrial aesthetic. And beyond the round headlamp and sweeping lines that already define the Vespa’s charm, this special edition also gets a ribbed seat that suits the theme nicely.

Like the other scooters in Vespa India’s portfolio, the Officina 8 will be offered in both 125cc and 150cc versions.

Vespa has also introduced a dedicated line of Officina 8 apparel, and buyers can opt for a colour-matched top box. Every scooter is accompanied by a welcome kit that includes a book tracing the workshop’s history and a colour-matched half-face helmet. The Vespa Officina 8 will be available at select Vespa dealerships across India and is priced at Rs 1.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra).
