Bajaj Auto’s managing director and chief executive officer, Rajiv Bajaj, has confirmed in an interview that the downsized 350cc Triumph models will make their way to the market by April 2026.

Triumph 350cc models: What to expect?
The smaller displacement models will be based on the current 399cc engine.
We earlier reported that Bajaj is developing sub-350cc KTM and Triumph bikes. Now, in a recent development, Rajiv Bajaj has confirmed that the downsized 350cc Triumph bikes will be launched in April. This will be quite beneficial for the company as Triumph’s entire small-capacity range falls above the 350cc category and attracts a higher 40 percent tax. In contrast, the sub-350cc models will fall under a lower tax bracket and attract 18 percent GST, helping them to be priced more competitively.
The 350cc engine will not be developed from the ground up but will be a downsized version of the existing 400cc mill. While specific details are still under wraps, the new engine platform will reportedly feature a smaller bore, bringing displacement just under the 350cc threshold. The downsizing is expected to result in a 3-5hp drop in peak output compared to the current unit. For context, Triumph’s current 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine churns out 40hp and 37.5Nm in most models and makes 2hp more in the Thruxton.
We expect Bajaj to follow a similar strategy for the KTM 390 range and its own Dominar 400 and NS400Z. However, a clear timeline for the other two brands isn’t known.
