It's no secret that Royal Enfield is working on a new 750cc parallel twin engine that will make its debut in the Continental GT 750 sometime in the third quarter of the calendar year. However, we can confirm that this bike will not replace the existing Continental GT 650.

The Continental GT 650 has gone on to become RE’s most popular twin cylinder product and it has also attracted a much younger buyer base for the brand. Recent spy images have shown that the new Continental GT 750 will be a more premium product and Royal Enfield is likely to be positioning this bike towards a different group of customers.
Given the RE GT 650’s popularity, Royal Enfield has decided not to discontinue it to make way for the new 750. Instead, the company will also give this bike a refresh in 2026, although that will happen after the 750 goes on sale. By that logic, expect to see the updated Conti GT 650 go on sale in the last quarter of the calendar year.
This will be a fairly substantial update for the 650 and it will go beyond just new colour schemes. We expect to see new suspension at the front and rear which will address one of the more common complaints with the GT. The existing telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorber layout will be retained, but with new and improved units. It is also possible that the bike will get a new twin disc front brake set up as seen on the test mules of the upcoming Continental GT 750, however this is not yet confirmed.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is currently available in five colours and with either spoked wheels or alloys, depending on the colour selected. Prices start at Rs 3.53 lakh and extend to Rs 3.82 lakh for the popular Mr Clean variant with a fully chrome finished fuel tank. The updated model is likely to bring a small increase in the price.
