In January 2026, the Indian passenger vehicle market recorded wholesales of around 4.5 lakh units, making it the strongest January ever and the second-highest monthly total on record. The top 10 bestselling vehicles featured models from Maruti, Tata, Mahindra and Hyundai, and included six SUVs, two hatchbacks, one sedan and one MPV.
