The Hilux EV is equipped with a 59.2kWh battery pack with a claimed range of around 240km (WLTP).
Pre-homologation data suggests that the Hilux EV will have a payload capacity of 715kg and a towing capacity of 1,600kg. It has a water wading capacity of 700mm.
Its front fascia looks sharp with slimmer LED headlights with sleek LED DRLs, a chunky bumper with a faux silver skid plate and pixel-shaped LED fog lamps.
In profile, it continues with a 2-box design, as the current ICE model, but gets a new alloy wheel design and body-coloured cladding.
It gets LED tail lights with halogen turn indicators and reverse lights. The tailgate features big Toyota lettering with the handle featuring Hilux branding.
Its all-black dashboard is similar to that of the India-bound Land Cruiser Prado with a chunky 3-spoke steering wheel and dual 12.3-inch displays.
Debuts an electric power steering for the Hilux nameplate and also introduces features such as blind spot monitor, safe exit assist and a driver monitor camera.
Seats 5 inside and comes with adjustable headrests for all passengers and black leatherette upholstery.

The ninth-generation Toyota Hilux pick-up has been revealed in both ICE and EV avatar. The Hilux EV is Toyota’s first body-on-frame EV, and borrows a lot of design elements from its ICE counterpart. The electric pick-up will feature a 59.2kWh battery pack sending power to an electric motor on both axles, enabling a full-time AWD setup. It has a water wading capacity of 700mm, which is identical to the current-gen ICE version of the Hilux pick-up.
