During our time with the KTM 890 Adventure R, we found it to be unlike any other big ADV on sale in India.

The KTM 890 Adventure R is powered by an 889cc parallel-twin engine producing 104.6hp and 100Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Like a proper adventure bike, it rides on a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheel setup. Suspension duties are handled by WP XPLOR hardware, while braking is taken care of by Brembo with a 320mm front disc and a 260mm rear disc.

The 890 Adventure R features a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, LED lighting all around, a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control, and multiple riding modes—some of which are available only as part of the optional Tech Pack. It’s also a notably tall motorcycle, with an 880mm seat height, but that allows it to offer an impressive 263mm of ground clearance.

Poll of the month

What do you think about E85 fuel’s Rs 82.12/litre price in India?

Good - Rs 20/litre cheaper than E20 is a big advantage
Bad - it should have been priced even lower
Doesn’t matter - there aren’t enough E85-compatible vehicles yet
