Ducati is celebrating its 100th anniversary with the launch of the Superleggera V4 Centenario.
Ducati claims it is the most extreme road-legal motorcycle ever made. Superleggera is an Italian word that translates to superlight and that concept is clearly visible with the generous use of carbon-fibre everywhere around the motorcycle. The frame, wheels and clutch cover are made from the same lightweight material. Even the Ohlins fork has carbon fibre outer tube covers. In full track configuration it weighs just 167kg (wet weight, no fuel)

Ducati Superleggera V4 Centenario is powered by a 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale R V4 engine that produces 228hp, which can be further increased to 247hp with the full-system Akrapovič racing exhaust and Ducati Corse Performance oil. The engine features forged pistons, titanium connecting rods, titanium engine bolts, a lightweight crankshaft, and titanium intake valves. It is paired with a Ducati Racing Gearbox that comes with a neutral-cut off that is thumb-operated. The bike also comes equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes in the front paired to GP4-HY billet monoblock calipers - first-time on a road-legal bike.

Ducati has produced only a limited run of 500 numbered units with an additional 100 Tricolore versions that come with the same package but wrapped in the colours of the Italian flag. Each motorcycle will be delivered in an exclusive, customized wooden case. It will also come with a certificate of authenticity, a dedicated motorcycle cover, and front-rear paddock stands.
