Tata has introduced the 2026 Tiago EV starting from Rs 6.99 lakh. The updated Tiago EV receives a refreshed exterior, courtesy of new lighting setups and revised styling for bumpers and alloy wheels, as well as a revamped cabin along with some feature additions. Here is a closer look at all the changes that the Tiago EV facelift gets over the previous model.
2026 Tata Tiago EV new vs old: Prices
MY26 Tiago EV is more affordable by up to Rs 1.15 lakh
With the MY26 update, the Tiago EV’s starting price has gone down by Rs 1 lakh, and it has replaced the MG Comet as the most affordable electric car in India. Prices have reduced across the line-up, despite the refreshed look and additional features. The biggest difference is in the top variant, which has become Rs 1.15 lakh more affordable. Moreover, Tata has introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, under which the upfront cost of the Tiago EV starts at Rs 4.69 lakh and the battery rental is Rs 2.6 per km. Also, the 24kWh battery pack now comes with a lifetime warranty – valid for 15 years from the date of first registration to the first owner and covering unlimited kilometres.
2026 Tata Tiago EV new vs old: Exterior design
New fascia, lighting setups and wheel design
Starting at the front, the blanked-off grille now has a body-coloured panel instead of a gloss-black one. There are new LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps (DRLs), fresh styling for the bumper, which houses air vents on the sides, and a restyled central air intake for a cleaner look. The side profile is largely the same, save for the grey wheel arches and new wheel covers for the 14-inch steel rims. Also, the ‘EV’ badging on the front doors has been replaced by ‘tata.ev’ branding.
The rear end of the Tiago EV facelift is also heavily redone. It features new LED tail-lamps, now connected by a red bar, while the Tiago EV badging has shifted to the bottom of the tailgate. The dual-tone bumper is restyled, and the reverse lamp has been repositioned to the centre of the bumper. The Tiago EV’s colour palette has been rejigged with the arrival of new paint options, namely Dehradun Dew, Sobo Surge, Pangong Pulse and Pure Grey, while the Pristine White and Daytona Grey colours have been retained.
2026 Tata Tiago EV new vs old: Interior design and features
New dashboard, 360-degree camera, rear AC vents and more
Moving on to the Tiago EV’s cabin, the refreshed dashboard features a layered design. While the car still has a two-spoke steering wheel, it gets a monotone finish and has a ‘Tata.ev’ branding instead of the Tata logo. The dashboard remains a dual-tone grey-and-black affair, but it now features a fabric trim running across it. The fabric seats this time have teal-and-grey upholstery compared to the previous version’s black-and-grey one.
A significant change is a new freestanding digital driver’s display, which does without the traditional instrument binnacle. As for other changes on the dashboard, the start/stop button has shifted from the left side to the lower right side, and the ‘Tiago.EV’ branding has been repositioned to the HVAC control centre below.
The switchgear for powered window controls is new, differing in design from the one in the ICE version’s facelift. The door pads also get a fresh look, and while there’s a floating panel for the HVAC controls, the switchgear has been retained from the previous model.
As for features, the Tiago EV facelift gets rear AC vents, front seatback pockets, front centre armrest, fabric door armrests, auto-folding outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), 65W Type-C charging port and one-touch up/down for the driver-side window. New safety features include traction control, a 360-degree camera, a blind-spot monitor and six airbags as standard.
2026 Tata Tiago EV new vs old: Powertrain
Same battery pack options as the older model
The 2026 Tiago EV retains the battery pack options from the older model. It is available in two versions: Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). The MR variants get a 19.2kWh battery pack mated to a front-mounted motor, producing 61hp and 110Nm, whereas the LR variants pair a 24kWh battery pack with a 75hp, 114Nm motor at the front. However, ARAI-rated range figures have changed – increasing to 226km from 223km for the MR variants but declining to 285km from 293km in the 24kWh guise.
2026 Tata Tiago EV new vs old: Charging time
Charging times are quicker with the 2026 Tiago EV
A 0-100 percent top-up still takes the same time at 3.3kW AC speeds for both 19.2kWh and 24kWh versions, but with a 7.2kW AC unit, the MY26 LR variants are slightly quicker to charge now. The biggest difference is in DC charging speeds, thanks to support for a faster 30kW DC output.
