Mid trim Tata Sierra vs Top trim Tata Curvv: Which offers more value?

The Tata Sierra and Curvv are both midsize SUVs that are positioned quite differently in Tata's line-up. The Curvv coupe-SUV is built on the modified ATLAS platform, which in turn is a modified version of the Nexon's X1 platform. On the other hand, the Sierra is built on a new ARGOS platform that's positioned above the ATLAS, gets a traditional SUV look and larger dimensions. Both get an identical diesel engine, but come with different petrol engines altogether. We pit the mid-level Adventure+ trim of the Sierra against the top Accomplished+ A trim of the Curvv – since their prices overlap – and help you decide which of the two offers better value.

Notably, the Curvv's engines are paired to DCT gearboxes, while the Sierra's engines are mated to a torque converter automatic.

Sierra’s Adventure+ trim has a more affordable entry point. It is also available with a naturally aspirated petrol engine, while the Curvv gets it only on its lower trims. On the other hand, a turbo-petrol engine on the Curvv can be had with both manual and automatic transmissions, while the Sierra comes with the latter option solely.

Tata Sierra mid trim vs Tata Curvv top trim: Which one should you buy?

Sierra is the one to go for.

For most buyers, the Sierra Adventure+ trim is the better choice of the two. Not only does it offer a more accessible price point, thanks to its additional engine option, but its turbo-petrol unit also gets more grunt than the Curvv's turbo-petrol. Moreover, it has the most spacious rear seat in its class, an aspect that the Curvv doesn't do well at. While the Curvv clearly has an edge in terms of the equipment list, the Sierra's Adventure+ trim still gets most features, without a large compromise.
