Electric SUVs are no longer about just range or performance. What really matters now is how well they fit into everyday life. As the modern car buyer looks for a car that can do it all, it has to play multiple roles. From being a family transport and city commuter to a weekend getaway machine and, occasionally, something that’s just fun to drive, the Mahindra XEV 9S is the do-it-all eSUV you’ve been waiting for.

Space Galore

Mahindra XEV 9S bootThanks to the third row seats that conveniently fold flat, there's 500 litres of of boot space in the XEV 9S.

If you have lunch plans with a group of your friends, or are planning a short trip with the extended family, fret not for the 7-seat XEV 9S can accommodate them in all three rows without anyone feeling short-changed on space or comfort. The second row bench seat can be reclined for greater comfort, and can be slid forwards or backwards to adjust for legroom. Even airport runs with tons of luggage is no issue for this eSUV, as you can fold the third row down and get a wide, spacious 500-litre boot that’s ready for suitcases, backpacks, and everything in between. And then there's the useful 150-litre frunk for any additional bags, so storage will never be an issue.

Go The Distance

In case you’re planning on taking a road trip, with the XEV 9S, you would spend less time thinking about charging stops and more time just enjoying the drive, thanks to the up to 679 kilometres of ARAI certified range that the 79kWh battery is rated at. And when the road opens up and you are in the mood for some fun, 286 horsepower ensures the XEV 9S doesn’t forget how to be engaging behind the wheel. It is quick, and offers effortless performance. Even when you need to charge up the battery, the XEV 9S can do so at blisteringly fast speeds of 180kW, bringing the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 20 minutes.

Tech Savvy

Not only is the driver kept up-to-date on everyting necessary thanks to the head-up display showing key info and even augmented-reality navigation arrows, but every function is within easy access thanks to the slick and crisp 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. The front passenger can also entertain themselves without disturbing the driver thanks to an additional 12.3-inch touchscreen that can stream content on the move. Mahindra’s Driver and Occupant Monitoring System (DOMS) can also be used for video calls, monitor the driver’s alertness and even monitor the interior of the vehicle remotely. Even leaving your pet in the XEV 9S for a brief time is no sweat thanks to the new Pawpal feature, which maintains a safe cabin temperature.
