Hero Xoom 125 variants explained

The Xoom 125 marked Hero’s entry into the sporty 125cc scooter segment, and it goes head-to-head with the TVS Ntorq 125. This scooter is offered in two variants – VX and ZX – and here’s a clear breakdown of what sets them apart.

Hero Xoom 125 variant breakdown

VX

Both variants are identical mechanically and in terms of design. The VX serves as the entry-level option in the line-up, but it still gets key hardware such as 14-inch alloy wheels and LED lighting for both the headlamp and tail-lamp. However, it misses out on several premium features.

Hero Xoom 125 USB charging portThe VX variant misses out on a USB charging point.

It does without a front disc brake, turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and an additional storage compartment. Convenience features such as an illuminated start button, boot lamp and USB charging port are also absent, with the lack of a front disc brake likely to be the most notable omission for some buyers.

ZX

On the other hand, the ZX variant adds the features that are absent on the VX. While both variants get LED indicators, the ZX comes with LED sequential indicators. It also gets a front disc brake, turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity, along with additional storage that includes a USB charging port. Features such as an illuminated start button and boot lamp are also part of the package.

Hero Xoom 125: Prices and variants explainedThe ZX variant comes with a front disc brake.

The ZX is also available in two additional colour options – yellow and red – over and above the shades offered on the VX.

In terms of pricing, the VX costs Rs 81,194 (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the ZX variant is priced at Rs 86,025. That’s roughly a Rs 5,000 difference for a notable set of added features.
