Mercedes-Benz has re-entered the luxury MPV segment by bringing back the V-Class for 2026. It packs updated looks, new features, engines and seating configurations. Bookings for the MPV have been opened, with deliveries beginning by the end of March 2026. Existing Mercedes customers will get priority allocation. If you’re looking to buy the V-Class, here’s everything that you need to know about it.
1. What is the exterior of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class like?
The sheer size of this luxury MPV means kerb appeal is almost guaranteed
The India-spec V-Class for 2026 is only sold in the extended wheelbase guise, wherein the distance between the front and rear axles stretches over 3.4 metres (3,430mm to be precise). As for its vast body, it spans nearly 5.4 metres from the front bumper to the rear, while the width of this MPV is a little over 1.9 metres. The V-Class is also a tall vehicle, measuring about 1.9 metres at the roof – its sheer physical footprint means kerb appeal is almost guaranteed to impress.
The Mercedes V-Class for India comes exclusively in AMG Line trim, which gets it a star-studded grille with an LED surround element, multi-beam LED headlamps, sporty-looking bumpers and two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels. Other exterior design elements worth mentioning come in the form of LED daytime running lights, pronounced roof rails, angular LEDs within the tail-lamp housing, a split tailgate, plenty of chrome detailing – and even more importantly – powered sliding doors.
2. How is the cabin experience on the Mercedes-Benz V-Class?
Its vast exterior directly translates to a spacious interior
The power-operated doors add to the luxurious feel even before stepping into this Merc’s cabin. The interior of the V-Class has no dearth of space, especially when configured as a four-seater or even in a six-seater format. The latter comes with two opposing pairs of seats, with the forward-facing units being the most comfortable as they integrate an extendable leg support alongside cooling, heating and massaging functions. Buyers looking for more practicality can opt for the six-seater version with forward-facing individual captain chairs.
Enhancing the sense of comfort are the window blinds, rear climate control vents and plush leather upholstery. The high ceiling further increases the sense of space in this cabin, while ‘AMG’ branding on some of the surfaces adds a tinge of sportiness to an otherwise comfort-oriented interior. Perhaps not to the same extent, but the front seats are comfy and also get extendable under-thigh support. The angled design of the dashboard with the protruding climate control vents and dual displays looks modern, while the island-like centre console features Merc’s older trackpad controller along with several handy physical buttons.
3. What features does the Mercedes-Benz V-Class offer?

Right at the onset, we must tell you that this luxury MPV lacks openable rear windows. Should you wish for an open-air experience, asking those seated upfront to lower their windows will be your only option. Furthermore, this luxury does not come with a sunroof of any kind, be it single-pane or panoramic. Possibly making up for those omissions, the V-Class gets adaptive air suspension and an optional rear entertainment screen.
The powered doors and sliding rear seats aside, the Mercedes V-Class gets three-zone automatic climate control, 64-colour ambient lights, wireless smartphone connectivity, powered and climate-controlled front seats, a 15-speaker Burmester audio system, dual high-definition 12.3-inch digital displays and Mercedes-Benz’s MBUX infotainment software. Furthermore, there are dedicated cup holders, sunblinds, coat hooks, wireless charging pads and USB charging ports for the rear-seat passengers.
Some of the safety features include 7 airbags, ISOFIX anchors, traffic-sign assist, driver-attention assist, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, 360-degree cameras and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The V-Class also comes with adaptive cruise control with collision warning and braking assist, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, hill-start assist and much more.
4. What engine and transmission options does the Mercedes-Benz V-Class get?
Customers can pick from four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines
The V-Class is offered in V300 petrol and V300 diesel guises with mild-hybrid technology for the former. The latter comprises a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel mill with 237hp on tap, while the new V300 petrol’s 2.0-litre turbocharged heart puts out 231hp of its own, with another 20hp being provided by an electric motor. Both powerplants come mated to a 9-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.
5. What is the price of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class?
The Mercedes-Benz V-Class has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 1.4 crore for both the petrol and diesel versions. Moreover, to keep costs in check, the luxury MPV is being locally assembled in the brand’s facility in Chakan, Pune. It rivals the likes of the Lexus LM, MG M9 and Toyota Vellfire.
