With the launch of the Punch EV facelift, Tata Motors has injected some new design and features that first debuted in the updated ICE-powered Punch in January 2026. The most affordable electric SUV nameplate in the Indian brand’s line-up, the Punch EV facelift hopes to build on the success of its well-received predecessor. Without further delay, here’s all that we know about the 2026 Tata Punch EV.
1. Tata Punch EV facelift powertrain specifications
Tata’s updated sub-4-metre eSUV now gets two new battery packs.
The noteworthy upgrades as part of this facelift come in the form of two new battery packs. The entry-level variant, aptly called the Punch EV 30, is powered by a 30kWh LFP battery mated to a single electric motor that generates 88hp and 154Nm. The top variant is the Punch EV 40, whose front-mounted electric motor delivers 129hp; torque remains the same. The brand claims that the punchier version can accelerate from 0-100kph in less than 9 seconds.
The higher variant’s 40kWh battery pack features the same LFP composition as the base variant but sports higher-density prismatic cells. This new battery design means that the Punch EV 40 variant has a claimed range of up to 468km; the Punch EV 30’s maximum range is up to 375km. Regardless, both variants of the updated Punch EV support DC fast charging up to 65kW, taking the battery from 10-80 percent in about 30 minutes, according to Tata Motors. A 3.3kW AC charger comes standard, though buyers can opt for a faster 7.2kW unit.
2. What does the exterior of the Tata Punch EV facelift look like?
Design inspired from the recently facelifted combustion-powered Punch.
Compared to its predecessor, the fascia of the Punch EV facelift gets a reworked bumper with a more unified design and a distinctly carved-out lower apron. Tata has also been able to integrate the front-facing camera directly into the bumper, thereby providing a more polished look. The sleek LED daytime running lights have been retained with this facelift, but the central connected LED element has now been deleted.
The rear of the 2026 Tata Punch EV sports the stylish tail-light design seen in the new ICE-powered model, which includes the connected LED setup as well. Where the previous model’s rear looked a bit awkward, the updated Punch EV’s rear design is as contemporary as its combustion-powered sibling. Tata is also offering three new paint schemes with the 2026 Punch EV.
3. How is the interior of the Tata Punch EV facelift?
Tata has not introduced any major changes to the interior with this facelift.
Stepping inside the 2026 Tata Punch EV will be a familiar experience for those who have seen the interior of the pre-facelift model. This is because Tata has not altered the design in any noticeable way, instead continuing with the two-tone colour theme with a generous application of gloss-black trim on the steering wheel and centre console.
4. What are the features offered with the Tata Punch EV facelift?

The 2026 Tata Punch EV comes with a wide range of modern tech features, chief amongst which are the dual displays. These comprise a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. The latter ropes in Tata’s arcade.ev app suite, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus multiple voice assistants. There are also front and rear USB Type-C fast charging ports, a wireless charging pad, and a moving map display in the instrument cluster.
Top trims of the Punch EV facelift offer leatherette seats with ventilation for the front occupants, a voice-assisted electric sunroof, and automatic climate control. A new feature added to the updated 2026 Punch EV is ‘i-High Beam Alert’; it is a driver-alerting function which triggers if the headlights remain in high-beam for more than a minute at speeds ranging from 5kph to 40kph.
The safety kit of the Tata Punch EV encompasses 6 airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, tyre-pressure monitoring and ISOFIX anchors as standard. Higher variants of the Punch facelift get an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, hill-hold control, hill-descent control, surround-view cameras, an auto-dimming IRVM, blind-spot monitoring, automatic headlights, automatic defogger plus a rear wiper, and rain-sensing front wipers.
5. What is the price of the Tata Punch EV facelift?
The Punch EV facelift is priced more aggressively than the pre-facelift model.
The 2026 Tata Punch EV is priced between Rs 9.69 lakh and Rs 12.59 lakh (ex-showroom). This means that the base-spec Punch EV is Rs 30,000 cheaper than its pre-facelift equivalent, whilst the top-spec Punch EV is up to Rs 1.85 lakh more affordable than its equivalent pre-facelift trim. Customers can now also get the Tata Punch EV under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, which starts at Rs 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
