Cruise control used to be exclusive to cars priced over Rs 10 lakh. This nifty convenience feature, is now available in hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs priced much lower and is a boon, especially for those who drive frequently on the highway. Here, we list five of the cheapest cars in India that get this feature.
5. Tata Tigor
Price: From Rs 7.32 lakh.
The Tata Tigor's top three variants – XZ+, XZA+ and XZ+ Lux – get cruise control. It is the most affordable sedan in India with this feature, and is priced from Rs 7.32 lakh onwards. The Tigor compact sedan is on sale with an 86hp 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is also available with a 76hp CNG option; buyers can opt for a 5-speed AMT or a 5-speed MT with both powertrain choices.

4. Tata Altroz
Price: From Rs 7.04 lakh.
Tata’s premium hatchback offers cruise control on all except the entry-level Smart version. The Tata Altroz is the only model in this list to feature a 90hp diesel engine option, alongside an 88hp 1.2-litre petrol engine, and a 74hp CNG option. While the diesel and CNG choices are offered only with a 5-speed manual transmission, the petrol engine is available with a 5-speed AMT and 6-speed DCT options.

3. Tata Punch
Price: From Rs 7 lakh.
The Tata Punch is the most affordable SUV in India to offer cruise control, available from the mid-spec Pure+ trim that's priced from Rs 7 lakh. The Punch also has the largest number of variants with cruise control on this list. Engine options include a 120hp 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, an 88hp 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 74hp CNG option.

2. Hyundai Grand i10 Nios
Price: From Rs 6.84 lakh.
Even the most affordable Hyundai in India has cruise control from the mid-spec Sportz trim onwards; priced from Rs 6.84 lakh. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets an 83hp 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 5-speed manual or an AMT. It is also offered with a 69hp CNG option that's mated with a manual transmission in the Sportz trim; however, this is not equipped with cruise control. Interestingly, the Grand i10 Nios Sportz AMT’s Rs 7.36 lakh price tag makes it the most affordable automatic car with cruise control.
1. Tata Tiago
From Rs 6.77 lakh.
The Tata Tiago is the cheapest car with cruise control in India. However, such a feature is available only in the top-spec Tiago XZ+ variant, which is priced at Rs 6.77 lakh. While the top-spec Tiago shares the 86hp petrol engine and manual transmission with the Tigor, lower-spec variants are also available with AMT and CNG options.
