Kia Syros

Quick review in pictures

Kia Syros design

The styling is quirky and will displease some, but it could also come across as funky and cool to some.

Kia Syros interior

The mix of colours and textures give the interior a high-quality feel. Three screen display looks cool; centre screen obscured by steering rim.

Kia Syros seat comfort

Front seats are supportive and comfortable. Rear has ample legroom and headroom, and gets reclining and sliding function for a really comfortable seating position.

Kia Syros features

Touchscreen has crisp graphics and is intuitive to use; there are plenty of physical buttons. Other highlights include powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, ADAS.

Kia Syros turbo-petrol performance

Turbo lag can be felt below 1,500rpm on the petrol engine, and power tapers off after 5,200rpm. High NVH levels are particularly disappointing.

Kia Syros diesel performance

The Syros diesel prefers to be driven at a relaxed pace with ample torque on tap making overtaking easy. However, refinement is a issue here as well.

Kia Syros gearbox

DCT gearbox with petrol engine tends to upshift early; Diesel auto gearbox’s shifts are smooth, if a bit lazy.

Kia Syros ride, handling

There's body roll while cornering, and ride is firm over ruts and potholes. Steering is well-weighted at high-speeds, but could have been lighter for the city.

Kia Syros

We like:
Very comfy and spacious rear seats
Stylish, high-quality interiors

We don’t like:
High NVH levels in both petrol and diesel
