Kona Electric came in as a CKD
It was launched at Rs 25.30 lakh; prices were later reduced by almost 2 lakhs to boost sales.
Kona Electric sales
However, sales never really took off against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV that were more affordable and offered better value.
Kona Electric specs
Kona Electric featured a 39.2kWh battery pack with an ARAI-claimed range of 452km; front axle mounted electric motor produced 136hp and 395Nm.
New-gen Kona Electric
A new-generation of the Kona Electric was globally revealed in 2023; however, this version will not be brought to India.
Creta EV to replace Kona Electric
Instead, Hyundai will replace the Kona Electric with the more affordable Creta EV in India that’s expected to launch early next year.
Creta EV details
Creta EV will share some of its underpinnings with new-gen Kona Electric sold overseas, but exterior and interior will be shared with regular ICE-powered Creta.
