This is now the fastest accelerating bike in the class and comes very close to some 650cc ADV motorcycles with a 0-100kph time of just 4.99 seconds.
Switchgear isn’t the most tactile and feels a little numb with gloves on; TFT also glitched a few times.
Commuting with the Aprilia was decent and it'll go over most broken patches comfortably so long as you keep the speed low.
120 and even 130kph are very smooth and this engine will make for a great touring partner, has little to no vibration till the redline.
Aprilia will sell you a bidirectional quickshifter, but it will cost about Rs 28,000 and we haven’t yet experienced it, so we can’t tell you if it’s any good.
Verdict
The Aprilia RS 457 is about as close as you’ll come to a big-bike feel at a somewhat digestible price, reliability and service experience still a question mark.
