We start this issue with a detailed look at all the action from the 2016 Auto Expo, starting with a detailed first drive of BMW’s new, more SUV-like X1 crossover. We’ve also got first looks at Maruti’s Ford EcoSport rival, the Vitara Brezza, and Volkswagen’s made-for-India Ameo compact sedan. We’ve also driven the Bentley Bentayga and pit Jaguar’s XE against the Mercedes C-class. We even sent the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe out for a dogfight with an RC plane. Read on to find out what else we’ve got.

    New BMW X1
BMW just launched the all-new X1, the second generation of the SUV that pioneered the compact luxury SUV segment in India. It’s nothing like its predecessor and it’s all the better for it – more SUV-like to look at, more spacious, more practical and more powerful, it’s an improvement in every way.

    Maruti Vitara Brezza
Maruti is all set to enter the hotly contested sub-four-metre SUV segment with its Vitara Brezza. The car is a conceived-in-India product from grounds up, and will go up against the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300. Check out all you need to know about the car before its launch.

    Volkswagen Ameo
The German carmaker’s much awaited compact sedan was finally revealed in the flesh at the expo this year. The car is headed for our roads soon, and we bring you the details of this Maruti Swift Dzire rival.

    Auto Expo 2016
This year marked the 13th iteration of India’s biggest automotive exhibition. We have for you an all-encompassing review of the 2016 Auto Expo – launches, upcoming cars, concepts, announcements, interviews, the works!

    Jaguar XE vs Mercedes-Benz C-class
Jaguar finally has an entrant in the high-volumes entry-level luxury segment, the XE.  Find out how the new Jag stacks up against and the segment’s veteran, the C-class, in our luxury sedan shootout.

    Bentley Bentayga
It’s big, ridiculously expensive, and is also the fastest and most luxurious automobile that can take you off-roading. We know it as the Bentley Bentayga. It’s the British marque’s first crack at an SUV, and boy, they claim big. We go to put some credence to those claims.

Mercedes GLE 450 AMG Coupe vs RC airplane
We got our hands on Mercedes’ latest SUV, the GLE 450 AMG Coupe, and pitted it against an unlikely rival, an RC plane. On roads and off it, on sand, in the air and through the sea, this is one duel you don’t want to miss.

    Autocar Awards 2016
We bring you the best car and bike from the calendar year 2015, winners of our coveted Autocar Car and Bike of the Year 2016, and how they triumphed against more than 35 other contenders battling for top spots.
