Summer is here and temperatures are beginning to soar, but that hasn’t stopped us from going out and getting behind the wheel of the latest cars to bring you this May issue of Autocar India. A number of new SUVs are headed to our roads, and we’ve detailed them all out for you in one huge list. Plus, we show you how eco-friendly motoring can be fun, and also give you some helpful tips with which to go on the perfect summer driving holiday.

Future SUVs – Be it mainstream manufacturers or luxury brands, there are a number of carmakers that have SUVs lined up for our market in the coming months. We take a look at all these models that are headed to our showrooms in the near future. From Ford, Hyundai and Maruti, to Audi and Volvo, there’s something for everyone.

Ford Figo Aspire – All the details you need on Ford’s exciting new compact sedan, the Figo Aspire, as well as three new models the company will also be launching in 2015. There’s a new Figo hatchback, a new Endeavour, as well as the iconic Mustang muscle car. It’s going to be a big year for the Blue Oval.

Nissan Patrol – Nissan’s gargantuan SUV, the Patrol, is a huge hit in the Middle East, with its massive dimensions, luxurious cabin and big V8 petrol engine. It has the presence, the power and the off-road ability, but does it have what it takes to make a mark in the Indian market?

The 56-seat test – The Lodgy has stepped up and proven itself as a very capable MPV, but the definitive verdict can only be reached after a shootout with its peers. So we’ve brought along just about every other MPV in India – a total of eight – to try and crown a winner.

Crossover clash – Hyundai’s i20 Active is the latest addition to the growing hatchback-crossover segment, and we’ve compared it with two other popular cars in the segment – the Fiat Avventura and Toyota Cross Polo. Which of these cars adds the most substance to its rugged styling?

It’s good to be green – With concerns about the environment mounting, many carmakers are going green. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing, and there’s still plenty of fun to be had. This month we’ve driven four fun ‘green’ cars – the Nissan Leaf, VW XL1, Tesla Model S and BMW i8, and just for a little more excitement, we pit India’s own Mahindra e2o against a sail boat in a zero-emissions race.

Summer holidays – The scalding heat might make you want to retreat to the comfort of your air-conditioned home, but we say no! The summer holidays are the best time to go on a driving holiday, and we tell you where and how to go about doing just that. You don’t even have to use your own car...

Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 – Homegrown bike maker Bajaj has taken its most successful model and gone the faired way. The RS 200 is the fully-faired motorcycle that attempts to blend track-like performance with traditional Pulsar comfort. We check how successful has the concoction has been.

Lots of features, news, motorsports and some more drives. It’s all in the May 2015 issue of Autocar. Get your hands on the copy now!
