Summer is here and temperatures are beginning to soar, but that hasn’t stopped us from going out and getting behind the wheel of the latest cars to bring you this May issue of Autocar India. A number of new SUVs are headed to our roads, and we’ve detailed them all out for you in one huge list. Plus, we show you how eco-friendly motoring can be fun, and also give you some helpful tips with which to go on the perfect summer driving holiday.
Future SUVs – Be it mainstream manufacturers or luxury brands, there are a number of carmakers that have SUVs lined up for our market in the coming months. We take a look at all these models that are headed to our showrooms in the near future. From Ford, Hyundai and Maruti, to Audi and Volvo, there’s something for everyone.
Ford Figo Aspire – All the details you need on Ford’s exciting new compact sedan, the Figo Aspire, as well as three new models the company will also be launching in 2015. There’s a new Figo hatchback, a new Endeavour, as well as the iconic Mustang muscle car. It’s going to be a big year for the Blue Oval.
Nissan Patrol – Nissan’s gargantuan SUV, the Patrol, is a huge hit in the Middle East, with its massive dimensions, luxurious cabin and big V8 petrol engine. It has the presence, the power and the off-road ability, but does it have what it takes to make a mark in the Indian market?
The 56-seat test – The Lodgy has stepped up and proven itself as a very capable MPV, but the definitive verdict can only be reached after a shootout with its peers. So we’ve brought along just about every other MPV in India – a total of eight – to try and crown a winner.
Crossover clash – Hyundai’s i20 Active is the latest addition to the growing hatchback-crossover segment, and we’ve compared it with two other popular cars in the segment – the Fiat Avventura and Toyota Cross Polo. Which of these cars adds the most substance to its rugged styling?
