Tata Motors will be adding not one but three new models to its Dark Edition line-up in India. We had reported a few days ago that the Nexon EV Dark Edition is in the works and now dealers tell us that the Altroz and the Nexon will also get Dark Editions soon. Price announcements for the Altroz, Nexon and Nexon EV Dark Editions are expected to take place sometime in July 2021.

    • All three models to follow Harrier Dark Edition paint scheme
    • Expected to launch in the coming weeks

Tata Altroz, Nexon Dark editions: What to expect

Just like the Harrier Dark Edition that has worked wonders for the SUV, the Altroz and Nexon are expected to follow a similar black theme as seen in these pictures that have surfaced online, with a complete blacked-out look on the outside and on the inside. A few dealerships have begun receiving cars and we are told that the Black Edition cars get blacked out badging and additional Dark Edition logo on the side fenders, similar to the one seen on the Harrier Dark Edition.

There aren’t any changes expected mechanically which means the engine and gearbox options on these cars will remain unchanged. So, the Nexon and Altroz Dark Edition will be sold with the standard 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. It remains to be seen whether the Altroz Turbo gets the Dark Edition derivative.

The Nexon EV Dark Edition too is expected to get no mechanical changes and carry forward the running gear from the standard EV. The standard electric SUV is powered by a 129hp electric motor paired with a 30.2kWh battery pack giving it a range of 312km on a single charge.

Tata Altroz, Nexon Dark editions: Expected pricing

There is no news on the pricing as of now, we are told that a price announcement could take place in the coming weeks. Just like the price difference between Harrier Dark and the standard Harrier, we can expect the Nexon, Nexon EV and Altroz Dark Editions to be priced around Rs 15,000-30,000 higher than their standard counterparts.
