We’ve got our hands on spy pictures of the upcoming Nissan Evalia MPV, sent by our reader Karthik  from Chennai.

Styling-wise, the Evalia has a tall, upright stance, a short bonnet area, narrow front doors and sliding rear ones. In fact the only standout design flourishes there are to speak of are the angular headlamps and the serrated grille.

As seen in the spy pictures, the Evalia will come with dual-tone interiors, the steering-wheel is shared with the Sunny and Micra, but there are no steering-mounted audio controls. It will get power windows and a basic radio/CD player and manual-controls for the A/C.

The Evalia is built on Nissan’s B-platform and is a seven-seater with a 2+3+2 configuration. Powering the MPV will be the familiar 1.5-litre dCi turbo-diesel engine from the Sunny diesel. The Evalia will compete with the likes of the segment-leader Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and Maruti Ertiga.

Nissan will launch the Evalia MPV in India in the coming months.
