Mahindra has launched its 'Sankalp' CSR campaign for the Mumbai traffic police on the occasion of National Safety Day. As part of this initiative, Mahindra will provide Mumbai’s traffic police personnel with specially developed nose masks, florescent jackets with reflective tape, and protective helmets to enhance their safety while on duty.
In its initial phase, Sankalp will cover more than 600 police personnel stationed on duty from Worli sea-link to the Dahisar check post, while the second phase will cover an equal number of personnel from Worli to Churchgate. The nose masks will also be replaced once every 15 days.
Phase one of the campaign was inaugurated at the Bandra-Worli Sea-Link in the presence of the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr BK Upadhyaya, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic)
Qaiser Khalid and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pratap Dighavkar.
Under its Sankalp initiative, Mahindra also plans to improve the infrastructure at police stations, construct separate washrooms for male and female police personnel, arrange clean drinking water and provide the police force with solar lamps.
