Genesis, formerly a luxury model from Hyundai, has recently been positioned as a standalone brand. The company had announced plans to feature a six-model line-up by the year 2020 at the time of the reveal of the Mercedes S-class-rivalling G90/EQ900 limousine. Now, images of the company’s supposed model road-map have been leaked on the internet.

As per the road map, Hyundai’s standalone luxury car brand will have a three model-strong line-up by end-2017 with the all-new G90 and the G80 (essentially a rebadged Hyundai Genesis sedan) already revealed in 2015 and earlier this year, respectively. The third model is set to be a smaller G70 luxury sedan which will rival the likes of the new Audi A4, Mercedes C-class and BMW 3-series. The upcoming sedan was previewed by the Genesis New York concept which was revealed at the New York auto show 2016.

In the following three years, Genesis plans to unveil a further three models with two SUVs and a coupé. The two SUVs are expected to be roughly the same size as the Hyundai Santa Fe and Tucson, respectively, with the former to be the first to be revealed. The coupé is expected to make its debut around the same time as the Tucson-sized SUV.

In India, Hyundai had showcased the Genesis sedan at the 2014 Autocar Performance show and again this year, at the Auto Expo. The Genesis brand is expected to make its India launch in the coming years.
