With the 2018 calendar year coming to a close, dealers are offering significant discounts and benefits on their range of vehicles. This phenomenon can be seen every year as dealerships look to clear remaining stock of the ongoing year’s model and also to increase sales. This time of the year is a good time to buy a new car as you can maximise your potential savings. If you’re on the lookout for a new SUV, here’s our list of SUVs that you can buy this month that have excellent deals you can avail.

    Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

    Save up to Rs 20,000
Another sales sensation for Maruti Suzuki, the Vitara Brezza is also the best-seller in its segment by a large margin. Maruti dealers are looking to clear the MY18 stock and are currently offering the Vitara Brezza with Rs 20,000 discount on exchange only. The compact SUV and Tata Nexon rival is offered solely with a 90hp, 1.3-litre diesel motor that is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

    Mahindra Bolero Power Plus

    Save up to Rs 30,000
The Bolero Power Plus is tough, economical and reliable, which has made it popular in rural parts of the country. Mahindra dealers are offering a Rs 20,000 cash discount and an additional exchange bonus of Rs 10,000 on the Bolero Power Plus. The utility vehicle is powered by a 71hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor that is known for being torquey.

    Hyundai Creta

    Save up to Rs 35,000
The popular Hyundai Creta is the best-selling SUV in its segment and comes with a variety of engine options – a 90hp, 1.4-litre diesel, a 123hp, 1.6-litre petrol and a 128hp, 1.6-litre diesel motor. Usually, Hyundai does not offer any discount of the Creta owing to its high sales number, however, buyers can now save up to Rs 15,000 on the SUV through online insurance premium and an additional Rs 20,000 cash discount.

    Mahindra XUV500

    Save up to Rs 35,000
The XUV500 was Mahindra’s flagship product until the launch of the Alturas G4 last month. Mahindra dealers are offering the XUV500 with Rs 10,000 cash discount along with Rs 25,000 exchange bonus. The seven-seat SUV comes with petrol and diesel engine options – a 140hp, 2.2-litre petrol and a 155hp, 2.2-litre diesel. While the former gets a 6-speed automatic as standard, the latter has 6-speed manual and automatic options, along with an AWD option too.

    Honda WR-V

    Save up to Rs 40,000
Honda’s Jazz-based crossover shares its engine, transmission (manuals only) and nearly everything else including equipment with its hatchback sibling, including its positives and negatives. During the year-end, the WR-V is now available with a Rs 20,000 exchange bonus and half-off on insurance, worth up to Rs 12,000. Additional discounts and benefits on this Fiat Avventura rival can be availed at select dealerships.

    Ford Endeavour

    Save up to Rs 40,000
The Toyota Fortuner rival can be had with benefits up to Rs 40,000 this December. The Ford Endeavour will receive a mild facelift soon and hence dealers are offering Rs 40,000 cash discount to clear old stocks. However, this deal is only applicable on the 160hp, 2.2-litre 4x2 variants of the SUV. There is also a 200hp, 3.2-litre diesel engine on offer, which gets 4x4 as standard.

    Mahindra TUV300

    Save up to Rs 65,000
The Mahindra TUV300 is a rugged compact SUV that is currently being offered with discounts of up to Rs 65,000. There is Rs 46,000 cash discount along with an additional Rs 15,000 off upon exchanging your old car. To top it off, there is also a corporate discount of Rs 4,000 on the TUV300. Lower-spec variants are powered by a 84hp, 1.5-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine while higher-spec trims get a more powerful 100hp version of the same motor. While the TUV300 vies in the same space as the Nexon and Vitara Brezza, this ladder frame compact SUV is not nearly as successful as rivals.

    Ford EcoSport

    Save up to Rs 60,000
Tough competition in the compact SUV segment has led to the drop of EcoSport sales numbers. Ford dealers are offering discounts of up to Rs 60,000 on the model to boost sales. The compact SUV from Ford gets three engine options – a 123hp, 1.5-litre petrol, a 125hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.5-litre models get a 5-speed manual as standard, though a 6-speed automatic is on offer with the petrol. The turbo-petrol mill is mated exclusively to a 6-speed manual.

    Tata Nexon

    Save up to Rs 72,000
The Tata Nexon was recently awarded a five-star crash rating by the Global NCAP, making it one of the safest cars on sale in India. The compact SUV is presently being offered with discounts up to Rs 52,000 which includes one year comprehensive insurance, along with three-year third party insurance for a discounted price of Rs 12,999. In addition, the rival to the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport is available with Rs 15,000 discount, along with an additional Rs 5,000 corporate discount. The Nexon comes with a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 110hp, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel, both of which get 6-speed manual and AMT options.

    Jeep Compass

    Save up to 73,400
The Jeep Compass has sold in good numbers in our country. There are plenty of variants to choose from, all of which are available with either a 162hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol or a 173hp, 2.0-litre diesel. The former gets 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch automatic options while the latter gets a 6-speed-manual as standard, though does have 4x2 and 4x4 options. Both the 4x2 and 4x4 on the top-spec Limited (O) trim have a Rs 73,400 cash discount or a Rs 50,000 exchange bonus. Lower-spec models have smaller cash discounts though a Rs 50,000 exchange bonus is on offer across most of the range. However, there are currently no offers on the base Sport trims and the top-spec Limited Plus variants.

    Maruti Suzuki S-cross

    Save up to Rs 75,000
Maruti Suzuki’s Hyundai Creta rival, the S-cross, comes with a single engine-gearbox combination – a 90hp, 1.3-litre diesel motor mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. While the crossover is fairly spacious, practical and well-equipped, it just isn’t SUV enough for Indian buyers and the lack of a petrol model, an automatic or AWD variant is telling. Buyers can now avail Rs 75,000 worth of discounts and benefits. As the lower-spec variants see less demand than the higher-spec models, discounts on the former are larger.

    Mahindra Scorpio

    Save up to Rs 85,000
The Scorpio has been a steady seller for Mahindra for more than a decade. This December, Mahindra dealers are offering Rs 55,000 cash discount along with Rs 25,000 exchange bonus on the SUV. Buyers can also avail a corporate discount of Rs 5,000. The Scorpio is a tough SUV that works well for everyday transport but is lacking in key areas, namely its driving dynamics and poor ergonomics. While the base trim gets a 75hp, 2.5-litre diesel, higher spec models get a 2.2-litre engine in 120hp and 140hp states of tune.

    Mahindra TUV300 Plus

    Save up to Rs 85,000
A modern alternative to the aging Mahindra Scoprio, the TUV 300 Plus is powered by a 120hp, 2.2-litre diesel motor mated to a 6-speed manual. The seven-seat SUV can now be bought with benefits and discounts up to Rs 85,000 depending on the variant, of which there are three on offer (P4, P6 and P8).

    Tata Hexa

    Save up to Rs 93,000
Tata dealers are currently offering the Hexa with benefits up to Rs 93,000. There is an exchange bonus of Rs 25,000 along with one-year insurance at a discounted rate of Rs 27,000. Select dealers may also offer an additional Rs 20,000 discount on the SUV, which is available with a 2.2-litre engine that makes 150hp and 320Nm on the base variant and 156hp/400Nm on the higher trims.

    Renault Duster

Save up to Rs 1.05 lakh
Renault dealers are now offering cash benefits of up to Rs 60,000, free insurance for the first year and an additional Rs 5,000 discount for corporate buyers. However, these benefits are only available on the more powerful 110hp diesel Duster, which gets either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT. The rival to the Maruti Suzuki S-cross and Nissan Terrano is also available with a 106hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine (with 5-speed manual and CVT options) and an 85hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor.

    Honda BR-V

Save up to Rs 1.1 lakh
The BR-V offers a pleasant driving experience and decent levels of comfort, making it a smart option for large families. With an exchange bonus of Rs 50,000, insurance worth Rs 33,500 and Rs 16,500 worth of accessories, the seven-seater is better value for money. Those who do not go in for the exchange offer can avail Rs 26,500 worth of accessories, while corporate discounts are also available for the BR-V.

    Toyota Fortuner

Save up to Rs 1.25 lakh
While the Fortuner is known to be a reliable seven-seat SUV, newer rivals have been introduced, which has prompted dealers to offer large discounts and benefits up to Rs 1.25 lakh. While the 177hp, 2.8-litre diesel model (which comes with either a 6-speed manual or automatic and optional all-wheel drive) has larger discounts on it, benefits are also offered on the 166hp, 2.7-litre petrol engine that comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, both of which send power to just the rear wheels.

    Hyundai Tucson

Save up to Rs 1.5 lakh
The Tuscon’s USPs include a roomy cabin, long list of equipment and premium looks. A Rs 30,000 exchange bonus and free insurance worth Rs 1.2 lakh can now be availed on the 185hp, 2.0-litre diesel versions and Rs 1.05 lakh on the 155hp, 2.0-litre petrol variants. Both motors are mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic that drive the front wheels. AWD is offered only on the top-spec diesel-AT variant. Dealers are also offering one-year comprehensive and three-year third party insurance as a part of the discounts, along with corporate discounts worth Rs 50,000.

    Renault Captur

Save up to Rs 2 lakh
Renault dealers are looking to boost sales of its Captur and clear stock of older models, including some MY17 models, on which buyers can avail a whopping Rs 2 lakh discount. Potential customers of the higher-spec RxT and Platine trims can also avail one-year insurance at Re 1. The Captur shares the Duster's 106hp, 1.5-litre petrol and 110hp, 1.5-litre diesel, with 5-speed manual and 6-speed manual gearboxes, respectively.

    BMW X3

Save up to Rs 2.5 lakh
Diesel versions of the Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLC competitor can now be had with benefits and discounts to the tune of Rs 2.5 lakh. The 190hp, 2.0-litre diesel motor, which is mated to an 8-speed automatic as standard, is one of the key points that makes the X3 more fun-to-drive than its rivals. The model is also far better equipped and more luxurious than the outgoing X3.

    Mercedes GLC 300 petrol

Save up to Rs 3 lakh
Mercedes dealers are now offering up to Rs 3 lakh worth of discounts and benefits on the petrol-powered GLC. Under the hood of the model, is a 245hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that is mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. While it may not be as engaging to drive as rivals, it is a great all-rounder.

    Jaguar F-Pace

Save up to Rs 3 lakh
Jaguar’s first SUV is a lot like its sedans, keen drivers will like its dynamics and handling. The package is let down slightly by the 250hp, 2.0-litre petrol and 180hp, 2.0-litre diesel engines, which just aren’t a match to the engaging chassis. Buyers will be able to avail benefits worth Rs 3 lakh on the F-Pace, which is a significant year-end discount, but not enough to make the Jag feel worth its price.

    Jeep Grand Cherokee

Save up to Rs 6 lakh
As Jeep’s flagship SUV, the Grand Cherokee, has not been a sales sensation in our market, Jeep dealers have been authorised to offer a sizeable discount of Rs 6 lakh on the petrol Grand Cherokee Summit. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel Grand Cherokee is being offered with a Rs 3 lakh discount for the Limited variant. The performance-focused SRT Grand Cherokee is powered by a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 motor that puts out 461hp and 624Nm of torque. This variant is currently available with a Rs 3 lakh discount from dealers.

    BMW X5 xDrive30d

Save up to Rs 7 lakh
BMW dealers are now offering significant benefits of up to Rs 7 lakh on the Mercedes GLE and Audi Q7 rival. The model is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel motor that makes 258hp and 560Nm of peak torque, and comes with an 8-speed automatic and four-wheel-drive as standard. Known for its performance and handling, the X5, however, isn’t a proper seven-seater like the Audi Q7.

    Jeep Wrangler

Save up to Rs 8.50 lakh
Known for its go-anywhere ability, the Wrangler is quite expensive as it has been brought in via the CBU route. Jeep dealers are offering a Rs 5 lakh discount on the Wrangler diesel, while the petrol version of the Wrangler is also offered with Rs 5 lakh discount for the 2018 model year and a massive Rs 8.50 lakh off for the 2017 model year.
