The 44th Tokyo motor show will see Japanese auto giant Suzuki displaying a vast portfolio varying from electric vehicles to concept cars. The booth will feature a theme named 'Suzuki Next 100' which will celebrate Suzuki’s 100 years in 2020. The products then will be a reflection of what the company will be offering over the next 100 years.
The booth will house a concept mini car called the Mighty Deck which will have a canvas top and an adjustable open deck. There will also be the Air Triser, which is a 3-door compact minivan with its interior based on a private lounge concept. It also will feature a display screen extending from one of the B-pillar to the ceiling. Also seen will be an Ignis Trail concept which is based on the Ignis but has more off-road capability and is more compact than the Ignis.
Suzuki will also be launching two new production models – the Baleno and the Escudo – alongside the Swift, Solio, Solio Bandit and the SX4 S-Cross. The Baleno is a hatchback which will include the options of the newly developed 1.0-litre turbocharged BoosterJet and 1.2-litre Dualjet engines. The Escudo, which is dubbed the Vitara outside Japan, is a compact SUV with four-wheel drive and off-road capabilities. The booth will also feature small cars like the Wagon R, Spacia, Hustler, Alto, Alto Lapin, Jimny and Spacia.
