Porsche has announced that criminal proceedings brought against its senior executives by its former local importer in India, Ashish Chordia of Precision Cars, have been dismissed.

The Jaipur Bench of the Rajasthan high court pronounced its judgement last December. The court allowed the quashing petition filed by Porsche AG, Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE and its directors and dismissed all criminal proceedings initiated by Chordia and Precision Cars.

Precision Cars had challenged the termination of its local importer agreement by Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE and the appointment of Volkswagen Group Sales India as the official local importer for Porsche Cars in India.

The German luxury sports car manufacturer says it has always maintained that the criminal proceedings were entirely without merit. At present, Porsche India has eight authorised sales and service dealers in India, in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
