Nissan has unveiled an updated Sunny in Thailand, where it is known as the Nissan Almera. The Japanese carmaker has also announced that this updated saloon will be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo 2014 in Delhi.
Initial images show styling tweaks to the front-end of the car. The headlights have been reworked, along with the front grille and bumpers. The lower part of the bumpers now gets chrome accents, while the front bumper gets re-styled fog lamps. The Sunny facelift will also get power-folding wing mirrors and re-designed 15 inch alloy wheels. The interiors see a re-styled centre console that features piano-black trim with silver accents.
The Nissan Almera gets a new music system with Bluetooth connectivity and 6.1-inch touchscreen DVD player, as well as an all-new steering wheel; it is yet to be seen whether these updates come down to the Indian-spec Sunny or not. There’s also a new stop-start system on the Almera which, if it comes to India, could be a segment first here and may help in better fuel efficiency.
The updated Nissan Sunny is not expected to get any mechanical changes and the current 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel motors are expected to continue.
