After introducing the Nissan Micra facelift and Micra Active, a more affordable version of its hatchback, in India last year, Nissan has already begun working on the next-generation car. The next-generation Nissan Micra will be unveiled globally in 2016.
The 2016 Nissan Micra, according to the carmaker, will be more emotional and sporty than the current car. However, it will not return to the rounded shape of the current Nissan Micra.
The new car is expected around 2016, and Nissan’s product Chief Andy Palmer said: “The Micra will be a car designed for Europe, rather than for global sale, but with a concentration on achieving emerging market success.
“However, it won’t be a car that’s cute. We see it as a car that can sit easily next to the Ford Fiesta or VW Polo.”
