The Mercedes E-class range will expand with a Coupe and high-riding All-Terrain variants.

A product-planning document detailing Mercedes’ new model introductions for 2017 has been leaked online. This was part of an internal presentation outlining the carmaker's first-half financial results for 2016. The document confirms that Mercedes will launch nine new Mercedes models and two new models under the Smart brand in the international markets next year.

The leaked product plans reveal that the Mercedes-AMG GT C will be one of the nine models set to be introduced by the carmaker. The GT C is a long-mooted convertible version of the GT R two-seat sportscar and is set to be launched in the first half of next year. It will sport a fabric hood similar to that of the SLS roadster. Joining the GT C are the new-generation E-class Coupé, a high-riding E-class All-Terrain and a facelifted GLA (referred to as the GLA Coupé in the product planning document) and the recently unveiled 585hp GT R – all set to be launched during the first half of 2017.

According to the official document, the two Smart models – the all-electric Fortwo cabriolet EV and Forfour EV – are planned for launch during the first half of 2017.

These will be followed in the second half of 2017 by a facelifted version of the S-class, new-generation E-class Cabriolet and a facelifted version of the GT (referred to as the GT C Coupé in the internal presentation), as well as the new Mercedes pick-up truck.
