Mercedes has announced that it will be launching two coupé versions of the S-class, in the form of the S500 Coupe and its high-performance sibling, the S63 AMG Coupe.
The S500 Coupe is the two-door version of the S500 that is already available. It gets all the features of the standard S500 but with a differently styled rear end, with a more sloping profile. Under the hood, the car is powered by the same 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8 developing 453bhp and 71.3kgm of torque, as seen in the four-door version.
The S63 AMG Coupe will get a styling similar to that of the S500 Coupe, but with added
AMG influences like aggressive body kits and a cabin full of carbon-fibre trim. Power will be sourced from a 5.5-litre twin-turbo AMG V8 developing 577bhp and 91.77kgm of torque.
The two models will mark the entry of the coupé version of the new S-class in the Indian market, where the big luxury barge has been offered in its four-door extended wheelbase form only.
The company will also be launching new paint shades for the G63 AMG.
