Mercedes has released a teaser image of a concept car that it plans to reveal at the Tokyo motor show later this month. The car, called the Vision Tokyo concept, is expected to feature the company’s latest advancement in autonomous technology and be powered by a hydrogen fuel-cell electric powertrain.

The teaser shows an MPV-like concept with a rather sleek design as seen on other recent Mercedes concepts such as the F015 Luxury in Motion concept that was showcased at Geneva earlier this year.

The concept car is expected to follow in the footsteps of the F015, and could get digital screens that replace traditional windows, and a luxurious interior capable of seating seven.

Mercedes is yet to reveal any official details regarding the Vision Tokyo's powertrain, but it could feature the same plug-in hydrogen fuel-cell electric system as the F015. That powertrain, which features two electric motors delivers a combined output of 268bhp and 40.65kgm of torque, and a range of up to 1,100km.
