Lexus has unveiled the LF-C2 concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Unsurprisingly, the overall appearance is very similar to the recently launched Lexus RC coupé, as this concept is in essence a drop-top version of that car. However, there is still no confirmation if this convertible concept will enter production.

It continues to showcase the bold future styling that Lexus is trying to follow. Design elements include the spindle-like grille, the edgy headlights, 20-inch alloys, rear lid and quad exhaust pipes. More so, it gives a peek into what the Lexus RC convertible could look like, if it ever rolls out. The Japanese carmaker says the LF-C2 has been designed “to give driver and passenger the best top-down driving experience”.

The LF-C2 concept is 4,715mm long, 1,840mm wide and is 1,385mm tall. Those dimensions mean it is 21mm longer, 6mm wider and 9mm lower than the standard RC.

Inside, the dashboard gets a prominent central screen that can be controlled by a touchpad, and there are form-fitting seats for the driver and passengers. The cabin of this concept, which has a two-plus-two layout, also gets LED lights that adorn the entire window line.

“This concept shows consumers around the world Lexus’s devotion to emotional designs and its passion for an exceptional driving experience,” said Jeff Bracken, Lexus US vice president and general manager.
