With the introduction of the new Honda City, the race for dominance in the mid-size sedan segment is heating up. Now Hyundai is getting ready to improve its line-up in the segment by launching a new CX variant of the Hyundai Verna. The CX will only be available on the smaller 1.4 CRDi diesel engine and will sit between the Hyundai Verna EX and SX models.

The Hyundai Verna CX will reportedly borrow features like automatic climate control, electrically adjustable and foldable wing mirrors with turn indicators, two-DIN audio system with Bluetooth compatibility, steering-mounted audio controls, electro-chromatic rear view mirror, rear parking sensors with camera, ABS and driver-side airbag from the higher SX variant. We estimate a Rs 9.5-lakh price tag for the Hyundai Verna CX.

This new CX variant of the Hyundai Verna 1.4 CRDi improves the value offering and gives buyers a wider choice of models to choose from. The company has also recently give the entire Verna range a mild update, with top-end models getting new design alloy wheels, projector headlamps, LED daytime-running lights and illuminated switches inside the cabin. Hopefully, these measures will give the Hyundai Verna an edge against its newest rival, the new Honda City.
