Google has taken the wraps off its self-driving car, which is now in full production form. Earlier this year, when prototypes were being developed, Google said it “won't have a steering wheel, accelerator pedal, or brake pedal.” The company claimed it did not need any conventional controls, and that the software and sensors did all the work.

This production model though, now comes with legally-essential things like a steering wheel, pedals, wing mirrors, and functional headlamps, tail-lamps and indicators. It also gets the terrain sensor perched on its roof.

Despite a number of carmakers working on autonomous or semi-autonomous technology, there haven’t been any fully-autonomous production models yet. And although Google’s self-driving car looks like a “Skynet Marshmallow Bumper Bot”, it will have the distinction of being the first fully-autonomous road car.
