Nissan’s low-cost brand, Datsun has released an image teasing an upcoming concept car that will make its debut at the upcoming Tokyo motor show. The car is expected to showcase a city car crossover and could be a near-production concept.

The image shows the headlamp and fog lamp of the concept car along with a portion of the grille and, what could be body cladding along the wheel arch. The concept car could likely be based on the CMF-A platform that underpins the Renault Kwid, as part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
The concept could probably carry forward parts from other Datsun cars, including switchgear, dashboard and engines, to keep production costs as low as possible.

The concept car is also expected to borrow styling elements from its French partner’s entry-level hatchback, the Kwid, and will be the company’s second crossover concept following the Datsun Redi-Go concept unveiled at Auto Expo 2014.
