The BMW Group has announced a price hike for all models under the BMW and Mini brand currently on sale in India. The prices of all models in the BMW and Mini line-up are to be raised by 3 percent with effect from January 1, 2016.

Philipp von Sahr, president, BMW Group India, said, “The increase in prices is in continuation of our endeavour to offer the most aspirational and exceptional products to our customers and on adding more value to their overall ownership experience. We believe that the circle of ‘Sheer Driving Pleasure’ can only be completed by introducing innovative products, building world-class dealerships, state-of-the-art services that engage passionately with our clientele to deliver premium services ahead of its time.”

The BMW line-up in India currently includes a host of locally assembled and CBU vehicles. Models such as the BMW 1-series, 3-series, 3-series Gran Turismo, 5-series, 7-series, X1, X3 and X5 are locally assembled at the carmaker's Chennai plant. On the other hand, models like the BMW 6-series Gran Coupe, Z4 roadster, X6, i8 and the high-performance M3, M4, M5, M6, X5M and X6M are imported as completely built-up units.

The Mini range here consists of the Cooper D and Cooper S 3-door, Cooper D 5-door, Cooper Convertible and Cooper D Countryman. All models in the Mini line-up are imported as CBUs with the Countryman’s local assembly having been halted with the introduction of an updated model in August.
