The Scooty Zest is powered by a four-stroke, 109.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled and carbureted engine, expected to churn out approximately 8bhp, transferred to the rear wheel through a TVS’ CVTI system. The Zest comes with an electric as well as a kick starter.

The saddle is now longer and wider, with a stylish and handy alloy grab rail, and the front flatboard is broader than earlier. The front suspension uses telescopic forks, and the rear gets a monoshock with the engine doubling up as a stressed member of the frame. The 90/80 10-inch tyres sit on steel wheels, in comparison to the 3.00x10-inch tyres on the earlier Scooty.

Its refreshed styling and powerplant mean the new Scooty Zest should provide users a better overall package. The new Scooty Zest is expected to hit showrooms by April 2014, at an estimated price of around Rs 47,500.
